NPI Document Provides FAQs for the Dental Community
Posted: September 21, 2006
A special Task Force has completed its mission to develop a comprehensive questions & answers FAQ about the National Provider Identifier (NPI), which can be used by payers, non-profit associations, clearinghouses, practice management software companies, and other interested parties to help educate dentists about NPI.  The purpose in developing a united message is to ensure that the information the dentists receive about NPI is both accurate and consistent.

This new informational document on NPI is available on the NDEDIC website (http://www.NDEDIC.org) , located under the RESOURCE TAB.  It is not necessary to register on the website to obtain this information.

Members of the task force include representatives from the American Dental Association, the AmericanAcademy of Periodontology, dentists, dental insurance carriers, major dental practice management systems, national & regional clearinghouses and other interested parties focused on NPI for the dental industry.
