AdheSE is a self-etching, light-curing adhesive for all direct resin restorative procedures. Separate and time consuming steps of phosphoric etching, rinsing, and drying can be eliminated. <> AdheSE features a unique combination of patented, hydrolitically stable monomers and a low pH that create discernible etch patterns for penetrating both dentin and enamel. The patented monomers eliminate potential hydrolysis common when acid and water are combined. Eliminating hydrolysis of the components increases shelf-life of the product, assure each application is “fresh” and improves the long-term adhesion of the material. With AdheSE, postoperative sensitivity is reduced because of the self-limiting role of the acid and adhesive in a single step. Dentinal tags are produced as is a hybrid zone to the full extent of the etch pattern. AdheSE’s unique monomers penetrate the surfaces of the preparation and when cured form a tight seal.
The two components, AdheSE Primer and AdheSE Bond, are packaged in color-coded bottles and brushes, and a dispensing dish for clear handling and application. The Primer acidifies and penetrates the tooth surface and the subsequent placement of Bond creates an adhesive layer, complimenting the application of a resin restorative.
The success of AdheSE has been confirmed through a variety of one-year clinical studies as well as several worldwide in-vitro investigations. This data is available upon request.
