Two Machines Awarded Seal

Instrumentarium Imaging awarded American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance
Posted: October 23, 2002
The American Dental Association recently announced that Instrumentarium Imaging’s Orthopantomograph/Orthoceph Extraoral Film and Digital Units have earned the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance.

“This is a very high honor,” Michael Palazzola, President of Instrumentarium Imaging, explained. “We are the first and only digital panoramic and cephalometric x-ray machines to be accepted by the ADA. Our business plan to provide the highest clinical performance is validated with this approval.”

“We are very excited,” Doug Woods, Vice President of Instrumentarium Imaging’s Dental division, concurred. “One must undergo the ADA’s rigorous scrutiny. To receive the Seal of Acceptance by the largest and oldest national dental association in the world is very gratifying.”

“In October, our 10,000th OP100 unit rolled off our assembly line,” Woods continued. “We recently celebrated our 50,000 OP unit install. There is a very good reason why there are more OP series units in dental practices worldwide than any other pan unit. I like to think that Instrumentarium Imaging continues to set the imaging standard.”

Instrumentarium Imaging develops, manufactures and markets Diagnostic X-ray Imaging Equipment, Systems and Solutions for mammography (Diamond, TACT® 3D, Performa, Alpha product family), dental imaging (Orthopantomograph® product family), and surgical and interventional imaging (Ziehm C-arms).

Instrumentarium Imaging is part of Instrumentarium, a leading international medical technology company, operating in Anesthesia and Critical Care (Datex-Ohmeda, Spacelabs Medical) and Medical Equipment. In 2001, Instrumentarium had sales of $920 million (EUR 1,025 million) and employed about 5,300 professionals worldwide. In July 2002 Instrumentarium acquired Spacelabs Medical, Inc. Instrumentarium is listed on the Helsinki Exchanges (INS1V.HE) with ADRs listed on the Nasdaq (INMRY). See also http://usa.instrumentarium.com
