Dr. James H. Bryniarski, Clinical Assistant Professor, Restorative Dentistry, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry, was awarded the College’s E. Lloyd Du Brul Faculty Achievement Award at the College’s 2006 Reunion Feb. 24.
The award is named for Dr. E. Lloyd Du Brul, who served on the faculty of the College of Dentistry for many decades, and was one of the most famous dental anatomists of modern times. He passed away in 1996. It is presented for significant and meritorious activity as a faculty member of the College, reflecting Dr. Du Brul’s career-long commitment to education excellence that strengthens the influence and renown of the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry.
Dr. Bryniarski, a 1978 alumnus of the College, has developed a variety of teaching materials, including a manual and slide presentation as director of the Dental Auxiliary Utilization Program, and also developed a presentation on pit and fissure sealants for dental assistants.
A resident of Riverside, IL, and in private practice on Chicago’s Southwest Side, Dr. Bryniarski has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America, the Riverside Brookfield High School Band Parents Organization, and the Riverside Friends of the Library. He is a former President of the West Side Branch of the Chicago Dental Society and of the Dental Arts Club, and currently is a member of the Illinois State Dental Society Education Committee.
