Dentrix Dental Systems announced that they now provide plug-and-play compatibility between their imaging software and Air Techniques’ ScanX digital imaging system. DENTRIX Image, a comprehensive imaging system fully integrated with the DENTRIX clinical and practice management system, will completely support input from the ScanX system. “ScanX’s compatibility with DENTRIX Image increases a doctor’s range of input capabilities,” said Jeff Harmon, director of sales at Dentrix Dental Systems. “The ScanX system allows the doctor to digitally capture a number of different types of images – all sizes of intraorals from size 0 to size 4 as well as panoramic and cephalometric images – and then manipulate and integrate these images using the powerful features of DENTRIX Image. The combination of these two great products should be welcome news for doctors everywhere.”
DENTRIX Image is a component of the Digital Dental Office (DDO) total technology system, which also includes the award-winning Dentrix ImageCAM intraoral camera and Dentrix ImageRAY digital x-ray sensor. DENTRIX Image is a fully loaded imaging suite that integrates directly into the patient’s electronic chart within the DENTRIX clinical and practice management system. Because integration is built in from the ground up, no bridging software or software “links” are necessary. Unlike some other systems, DENTRIX’s DDO components share the same database and development team, and work together to create a flawless, smooth experience in the operatory. In addition, Dentrix boasts an industry-leading 94 percent customer satisfaction rating.
“We’re very pleased with the compatibility and integration that ScanX is able to achieve with DENTRIX Image,” said Peter Stuart, Imaging Product Specialist at Air Techniques. “The ScanX system is unmatched by how it simplifies the dental practice’s entire imaging process, from speed of acquisition, to image clarity, to cost savings over traditional x-ray imaging processes. By teaming up with Dentrix, we feel that we’ve matched an exceptional imaging system with the one of the leaders in digital technologies.”
The A/T ScanX digital imaging simplifies the entire imaging process. All that is required for digital imaging is the A/T ScanX, a computer, and practice management software. Traditional film is replaced with a Phosphor Storage Plate (PSP). The ScanX system does not require electronic modification of x-ray units, special lighting conditions, or a darkroom. The patent-pending continuous rapid feed system results in image acquisition in just seconds. There are no carousels or holders to change; PSP’s are inserted directly into the ScanX. The image is available just 17 seconds after the initial exposed intraoral PSP enters ScanX.
