Dr. Berk has been practicing dentistry for six decades. An early pioneer in endodontic procedures and materials, he was one of the founders of Pulpdent Corporation and consulted with the company for more than 50 years. It was his invention of Pulpdent Paste, the original premixed calcium hydroxide methylcellulose pulpal dressing, that launched the company and gave it its name. He is also a renowned educator, having been associated with Tufts University for more than half a century. Now a professor emeritus, he is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including having a dental research laboratory established in his name. His dedication to helping save patients’ teeth is at the heart of this unusual book.
