Filtek Supreme Plus Flowable Restorative delivers high strength and esthetics to flowable market
Following in the footsteps of its big brother, Filtek Supreme Plus Universal Restorative, 3M ESPE now introduces Filtek™ Supreme Plus Flowable Restorative – establishing a new benchmark for flowable composites by delivering high strength and low wear, while still providing esthetic options and dentist-defined handling.
“Not all flowables are created equal,” said Jon Fundingsland, scientific affairs manager, 3M ESPE. “We’ve utilized our depth of knowledge in nanotechnology to create a flowable that has many of the desirable attributes of our leading composite, including excellent physical and esthetic properties, while still demonstrating the flow and viscosity expected of a flowable restorative.”
With its unique, proprietary filler system, Filtek Supreme Plus flowable restorative contains 55 percent filler by volume, which contributes to its great compressive and tensile strength, excellent radiopacity and high wear resistance. The new restorative flows under pressure, but holds its shape and stays in place prior to light curing with no slumping or running.
According to customer research, 30 percent of restorations where a flowable is used are visible, making esthetics critical. Based on the chemistry of Filtek Supreme Plus universal restorative, Filtek Supreme Plus Flowable Restorative provides improved esthetics over Filtek Flow Flowable Restorative, including polish, polish retention and color match giving dentists greater esthetic options in surface applications. In addition, Filtek Supreme Plus flowable restorative is available in 12 shades, including an opaque A3 shade.
Ideally suited for Minimally Invasive Dentistry (MID) cavity preparations, further indications for Filtek Supreme Plus flowable restorative include:
· Base/Liner under direct restorations
· Class III and V restorations
· Pit & fissure sealants
· Composite repair (indirect)
· Undercut block-out
· Repair of resin and acrylic temporary materials
