Tony Reynolds will build on the domestic success of Imaging Sciences’ i-CAT™ 3-D dental imaging technology to find new distributors and forge new strategic alliances worldwide
Hatfield, Pa.—October 7, 2005—Imaging Sciences International, a global leader in the development and manufacturing of advanced dental and maxillofacial radiography products, today announced the appointment of Tony Reynolds to Vice President of International Sales and Strategic Alliances. With over 25 years of successful marketing experience inside and outside the dental industry, Reynolds will continue the momentum of Imaging Sciences’ i-CAT™ 3-D scanner to increase the company’s sales abroad. The i-CAT™ gives dentists and specialists 3-D X-ray scans of the anatomy of patients’ mouth, face, and jaw areas, which leads to the most accurate treatment and predictable outcomes for patients’ surgical procedures.
To accomplish that goal, Reynolds’ first three responsibilities will be to:
• Continue aggressively marketing the i-CAT™ around the world. Reynolds’ initial priority is boosting sales in Europe and Canada, while nurturing the company’s growing presence in Asia, South America, and Australia.
• Streamline Imaging Sciences’ current international distributor network. Reynolds plans to review the quality of each distributor by criteria such as market reach within their region or country, scalability of their operations, company ethics, and ability to be trained by Imaging Sciences to support and service customers after sales of the i-CAT™, among other considerations.
• Forge new distributor partnerships and strategic alliances to expand Imaging Sciences’ sales and brand awareness around the world. Reynolds is working to establish potential partnership opportunities with dental and technology companies across the globe.
“I’m excited to help dental specialists around the world discover the peerless 3-D accuracy, in-office convenience, and patient-care benefits of the i-CAT™,” Reynolds says. “And along with promoting the i-CAT™ to end users on every continent, I’m making sure all our customers and dealers around the world receive the same exceptional level of customer service and support—whether they’re buying an i-CAT™ in Lincoln, Neb., or Seoul, Korea.”
Prior to joining Imaging Sciences, Reynolds spent over 25 years in international marketing, business development, and corporate alliance-building. He began his career with an international distributor of dental supplies headquartered in Johannesburg, South Africa. After that, Reynolds moved on to become the General Manager of U.S. and Canadian operations for Deproco Inc., a subsidiary of a French dental pharmaceutical manufacturing group. While at Deproco, he took the company from negative net revenues to a market leader in its niche markets; negotiated international distribution contracts; managed the company’s merger with Novocol Inc.; and was named president of the new entity, known as Septodont Inc. After leaving Septodont Inc. in 1993, Reynolds founded his own company, Obos Inc., and has since provided business development solutions as an independent consultant.
“We’re thrilled to have Tony’s experience, business acumen, and marketing savvy to expand the company’s presence overseas,” says Edward Marandola, President and CEO of Imaging Sciences International. “The i-CAT™ has already proven its worth to dentists across America who want more accurate anatomical information than they could possibly capture with X-ray films or traditional scans, and without having to inconvenience patients by sending them out to a hospital for CT scans. Tony is the perfect person to build on that momentum, and lead the company’s international expansion.”
The easy-to-use i-CAT™ has become the leader in Cone Beam 3-D Imaging by producing more thorough three-dimensional views of all oral and maxillofacial structures. Patients remain seated in an ‘open environment scan’, which increases patient comfort and captures the natural orientation of the anatomy. The data is transferred to a computer, typically within one minute, and displayed on an intuitive 3-D mapping tool that allows doctors and technicians to easily format and select desired ‘slices’ for immediate viewing. Requiring under 60 sq. ft. of office space, the i-CAT™ creates 3-D images at reduced cost and with considerably less radiation than traditional Fan Beam Computed Tomography systems.
