The Alumni Association of the University of Illinois and the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry welcome dentists who graduated from other institutions to join the University’s Alumni Association as Associate Members. Because of the closings of Loyola University Chicago’s and Northwestern University’s dental schools in recent years, the UIC College of Dentistry wanted to provide a venue for alumni of these and other schools that would allow them to get the advantages enjoyed by UIC College of Dentistry Alumni.
Membership provides many benefits, including a subscription to the UIC College of Dentistry magazine, which lists information about continuing education opportunities and social events, including the College’s golf outing; UIC Library borrowing privileges; UIC Campus Recreation Facilities opportunities; availability of low-cost internet access; tours in the United States and abroad; networking opportunities; an online directory; access to the Alumni Career Center; and more.
The UIC College of Dentistry recently added Dr. Charles DiFranco, an alumnus of Loyola University Chicago’s dental school, to its Dental Alumni Board, “Initially, I got involved with the UIC dental alumni as an avenue to take advantage of the excellent continuing education programs offered,” he said. “I’ve found a warm welcome from the alumni and staff of UIC. The willingness of UIC to support us is a great opportunity to organize a Loyola dental alumni association within the structured system of UIC, utilizing all its resources.”
