NEW YORK—SoftSmile has launched Vision Forecast, an AI-based decision-support module in its SoftSmile VISION Portal designed for early orthodontic case assessment.

The module analyzes a new case and generates a summary covering approximate aligner requirements, case complexity, relevant clinical details, and commonly used treatment strategies. Doctors can use it to estimate potential treatment duration and compare approaches, such as treatment with or without extractions, the company said.

Vision Forecast also shows doctors similar cases and how they were treated. According to SoftSmile, the tool can identify patterns and connections that may not be apparent when a new case is first reviewed on its own.

Doctors already assess or model a case before sending records to an aligner supplier, the company said. “Now, the initial assessment will be visualized, and the doctor will be able to walk the patient through it,” said Khamzat Asabaev, founder and CEO of SoftSmile.

Vision Forecast is part of SoftSmile’s broader development of AI-powered capabilities across its orthodontic technology products.
