AMERICAN FORK, Utah—Henry Schein One has launched Ascend Starter, a package of its Ascend by Dentrix cloud-based practice management platform for dentists opening new practices.

The package includes the full Ascend Pro platform, with clinical, scheduling, billing, and revenue cycle tools, plus a startup consultant and monthly benchmarking and performance data. Preconfigured settings and forms built for startup practices are coming soon, the company said.

Practices also get online scheduling with Reserve with Google built in. Optional add-ons include a website with the online scheduler embedded, integrated Mango phones, and an AI receptionist. Dental-focused IT support is also available.

According to the company, new dentists start with nearly $300,000 in education debt, and new practices take 12 to 18 months to break even. “Dentists committed to starting and building their own practice shouldn’t be blocked by cost and complexity,” said Ali Hyatt, chief commercial officer of Henry Schein One.

Ascend Starter is offered to practices with fewer than 500 patients annually and joins the company’s Essentials, Pro, and Accelerate packages.
