Chapel Hill, N.C.— Fishburne May LLC has introduced FishburneTabsOH, a saliva assessment tool designed to help medical and dental professionals screen for hyposalivation.

Clinical dry mouth often goes undetected because symptoms develop gradually and patients adapt. Traditional saliva collection methods can be uncomfortable or impractical. Hyposalivation is associated with common medications, cannabinoids, autoimmune diseases, diabetes and stress, and may increase the risk of oral health complications.

FishburneTabsOH use a three-minute test to indicate total saliva volume from all salivary glands. The device uses paper-based technology and capillary action to absorb saliva discreetly. The test can be repeated to help monitor changes and trends over time.

Developed by a dentist, FishburneTabsOH are intended to support collaboration between physicians and oral health professionals when systemic disease is suspected or present. Reimbursement may be available through Medicare and select insurers.

FishburneTabsOH are available through Cardinal Health. For more information, visit cardinalhealth.com.
