Easy Dental Systems, creators of the Easy Dental® practice management system, today announced the release of Easy Ray®, an new, all-digital X-ray sensor that provides instant, diagnostic quality images without using expensive films or subjecting patients to radiation exposure.  Using its patented “Active Column” CMOS sensor technology, Easy Ray’s high-quality images support the rapid detection and treatment of caries and the highest quality of patient care. Best of all, Easy Ray is compact and energy efficient, and integrates seamlessly with all Easy Dental software products, including Easy Dental practice management and Easy Image digital imaging software.

“Easy Ray brings the best of modern dental technology to our family of Easy Dental customers, and enables them to enhance their practices’ efficiency and accuracy with diagnostic-quality images for their patients,” said Michael Heyn, General Manager of Easy Dental.  “By using digital Easy Ray technology as part of their Easy Dental system, they’ll be able to meet their patients’ needs and their practice goals better than ever before. It reduces the costs associated with developing traditional X-Ray films; eliminates exposure to harmful radiation, also associated with traditional X-Ray technology; and saves time by providing instant feedback to images and more efficient patient care. These innovations help our customers run better businesses, which is part of our ongoing promise to provide the best in value-added products and services to dental practitioners and their team members.”

Through its patented design and other features, Easy Ray is compact and portable, and requires less power than most CCD-based sensors, and eliminates the need for bulky docking stations and power cords, as the system is powered directly through the USB connector cable. Easy Ray virtually eliminates the 3-5 minute wait for developing a traditional single x-ray film—images taken with Easy Ray appear on screen in Easy Image in seconds.

The Easy Ray will be available with #1 and #2 sensor sizes and is set to begin shipping during the fourth quarter of 2005.
