ADSTRA Systems has released Version 5.1 of its ADSTRA popCOM™ Office Communication Software, which provides dental professionals with an easy and efficient means to communicate with each other throughout the office via the computer system network. Version 5.1 allows even greater flexibility and a larger number of custom options, including the ability to define computer groups for sending messages.
Version 5.1 allows users to custom define background colors, which are then saved with the message. Text color (black or white) is pre-selected for best contrast with the background color for maximum readability. Users can attach sounds to messages, which are then saved with the message. A right-click menu for the message box allows operators undo, cut, copy, paste, delete, select all, attach a sound file, or detach a sound file.
ADSTRA popCOM software allows user preferences to be tailored by both the office and the individual workstations within the practice. The text of each message can be customized with color to highlight urgent messages, identify the sender, or to alert the recipient of an appointment. The system also allows the user to determine whether a message is typed in or chosen from a list of predetermined messages. By simply double clicking the message, a receipt confirmation is automatically sent to the sender. Users can define a default state for their individual workstations and can decide where they want their messages to appear, how long the text remains on the screen, and whether or not a particular sound is used to announce a message has arrived.
