Henry Schein, Inc. (NASDAQ: HSIC), the largest distributor of healthcare products and services to office-based practitioners in the combined North America and European markets, has appointed David McKinley to be Vice President and General Manager of Dental Prosthetic Solutions, a newly created position responsible for overseeing the three business units that focus on customers and products relating to restorative dentistry: the Zahn Dental Laboratory business, the Camlog dental implant division, and the E4D CAD-CAM product category. Mr. McKinley will report to Rich Miranda, Vice President of Dental Business Development for Henry Schein.
With an extensive background in general management and sales and marketing, Mr. McKinley has had tremendous experience in leading fast-growing organizations that participate in markets going through technological change. He was most recently a Group Vice President with Olympus America, Inc., where he oversaw its Medical Systems Group. Before that, he served as General Manager for C.R. Bard, Inc.’s Urology Division.
“This is a particularly dynamic period for the restorative dentistry category, with new technologies such as implants and CAD-CAM quickly changing the restorative process for our dental and laboratory customers,” said Mr. Miranda. “Henry Schein is ideally positioned to participate in this segment, and Dave is the right person to spearhead this effort. He brings an exceptional range of skills to Team Schein and will benefit from the counsel of Norman Weinstock, Chairman of Zahn Dental, who will continue to work with me to identify new opportunities and to drive our worldwide laboratory business.”
