MULTIPLE NEW FEATURES MAKE DESIGNING CERAMIC CROWNS EASIER AND FASTER THAN EVER BEFORE
Sirona Dental Systems continues to raise the standards of restorative control with the introduction of an upgraded version of its successful CEREC® 3D Chairside CAD/CAM software. The enhanced software includes three important new features that advance fabrication fit, overall design time and database customization. Sirona will be previewing and demonstrating the enhanced CEREC 3D software at Booth # 750 during the California Dental Association Meeting in Anaheim. Shipment of the upgraded software will begin at the end of the month.
Occlusal Accuracy: Reduces Design Time and Improves Consistency
The upgraded software makes establishing the occlusal clinical relationship to the antagonist literally “automatic.” The CEREC 3D software is now able to adjust the database tooth and establish the occlusal contacts with a click of the mouse. The proposed crown will need only minimal fine-tuning, and is then ready to mill. This new feature significantly reduces design time and allows dentists to produce consistent occlusal contacts virtually every time.
Increased Efficiency: Enables Multiple Restorations per Visit
With the addition of the unique “Fast Mill” option, the software cuts milling time for restorations by approximately 30-40% while maintaining precision results. This feature will streamline the overall fabrication process, which is especially useful when multiple restorations are done in a single visit.
New Tooth Libraries Mimic Natural Wear
Two new tooth libraries, “Mature” and “Adult,” have been created by one of the nation’s leading lab technicians, Lee Culp. These libraries take the natural wear of teeth into account and mimic the tooth shapes found in older patients.
Replications for Crowns: Produces More Natural Restorations
The updated CEREC 3D software also allows dentists to create their own customized occlusions by simply using any existing occlusion as their database. For example, when treating a problem on tooth #3, the closest match to this tooth would be a mirror image of the patient’s own tooth #14. With the new upgrade, the dentist simply takes a digital picture of tooth #14, mirrors it, and pastes it into the design of tooth #3 for a perfect match.
The introduction of this new, upgraded CEREC 3D software further enhances CEREC 3’s versatility and reinforces its leadership position among the all-ceramic CAD/CAM systems on the market today. The CEREC 3D software upgrade will be distributed free of charge to all CEREC Service Club members in the U.S. and Canada during May & June 2005.
