Today, the Coalition for Accessible Physicians (CAP) launched its new website, www.nationaldoctorsday.org , to inform fellow physicians throughout the nation about a planned rally in Washington, D.C. is taking place on April 20th 2005. Organizers of the rally anticipate the support of thousands of physicians on that day to engage House of Representatives and Senate leaders to join them in the battle for effective medical liability reform.
The purpose of the website is to educate doctors and patients about the rally and what physicians are doing to ensure better healthcare.
“I encourage my colleagues to visit the site and become active in our campaign,” said Ruth Schulze, MD, Chair of the Coalition for Accessible Physicians. “Our outreach is necessary to allow the nation’s best and brightest physicians to continue to practice medicine and treat our patients.”
The website explains the coordination of the campaign and how doctors, medical students, medical societies and hospitals can get involved. Those who visit the site will also find an online petition and are encouraged to support physicians by signing. These petitions will be presented to Congress at the rally on April 20th.
