NORTHBOROUGH, Mass—Solmetex has received additional patents for its NXT Amalgam Separator System, one utility patent for the system and two design patents for its dental amalgam separation collection containers.

“Solmetex, has been recognized as the leading technology in amalgam separation for over 25 years, with our system installed in over 70,000 dental offices worldwide,” said Kevin Danahy, president of Solmetex. “These patents are further recognition of our unique cutting-edge technology, ability to continuously evolve our product offering, focus on the environment and commitment to our dental partners and the communities they serve”.

These patents come in advance of the EPA dental amalgam rule stating that as of July 14, dental practices are required to install either a ISO 11143:2008 certified amalgam separator or a certified ANSI/ADA Standard No.108 amalgam separator, both at a separation rate of 95%.
