1-800-DENTIST and “The Tony Danza Show” Partner for “New Smile, New Style” Makeovers
1-800-DENTIST®, the nation’s leading free resource for consumers in search of a dentist, has teamed up with “The Tony Danza Show” for a week of “New Smile, New Style” makeovers. Each show features a person who was selected to receive a complete makeover (smile, make-up, hair and fashion style) as well as the dentist, who provides the high quality dental care. All participating dentists are members of the 1-800-DENTIST service and were featured along with Fred Joyal, CEO and Co-Founder of 1-800-DENTIST.
The story of Toni, the single mom from Pasadena, California, and her dentist, Dr. Sameer Puri of Tarzana, California, will be featured on Monday, May 23 at 2:00 a.m. on ABC 7. The show will feature her final “reveal”.
“Toni’s smile needed some work and the case was rather extensive,” said Dr. Puri. ”But the end result will most certainly decrease her insecurity about her smile and will boost her self-esteem. She now has the smile she’s always wanted.”
Each “New Smile, New Style” segment shows producers visiting the makeover recipients in their hometowns to provide insight into their lives, explain why the makeover is meaningful and witness their dental consultation. Candidates are flown to New York where they receive a complete makeover. Candidates are also accompanied by their respective dentist to “The Tony Danza Show” set, where they reveal their new look live on the show. Makeover candidates were chosen by the show’s producers based on the achievable smile makeover results, and personal information (background story, etc). The viewers will be able to see their dramatic transformations from start to finish.
