Company-matched contributions to Red Cross will support ongoing relief efforts
Sirona Dental Systems, the world’s only full-line dental equipment manufacturer, is reaching out to help those affected by the recent tsunami disaster. The company announced it has made a contribution to the Greater Carolinas Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Sirona employees pulled together to raise $1200 for the Red Cross. The company matched the funds for a total donation of $2200. This is the second time in the last six months that Sirona employees have made significant contributions to Red Cross disaster relief efforts.
“The sudden, widespread and catastrophic effects of the tsunami had a profound effect on the world,” said Michael Augins, President of Sirona Dental Systems, LLC. “When our employees approached us about making a contribution, we were pleased to do so. We are proud of our team for responding quickly and generously. We are strong supporters of the Red Cross and are grateful for their ongoing commitment to providing aid to those in need.”
The American Red Cross will use the funds to help pay for relief food supplies and nonfood relief items, such as hygiene kits, tents and kitchen sets. In the wake of this international disaster, the American Red Cross assistance plan also calls for specialized, ongoing relief efforts in the areas of food and water safety; healthcare and disease prevention; immediate family supplies; mental health counseling; and disaster preparedness and prevention measures.
