This enhanced model offers new features and upgrades to the world’s best selling apex locator, the original Root ZX. Utilizing superior technology and a new PC board, Root ZX II produces unmatched clinical accuracy rates, not affected by the presence or absence of blood, other fluids, or electrolytes. Root ZX II features an expanded, easy to read display screen with high contrast. The action of the meter in the display corresponds exactly to the tactile sensation of using the file. The new unit is lightweight and offers exceptional durability. The base of the unit has also been modified for greater stability during procedures. Additionally, Root ZX II can easily be upgraded to a low speed handpiece offering speeds from 150 – 800 rpm’s. The low speed handpiece module is interchangeable and snaps easily onto the back of the unit. This new versatility allows the clinician to choose between: an apex locator, a low speed handpiece or a combination of both. Other features include: no zero-adjustment, automatic calibration, battery power indication and automatic power off function.
Invented in 1992, the original Root ZX allows computer measurement of root canals during endodontic treatment, thereby accelerating the procedure while reducing the need for X-rays. Root ZX was the first apex locator with the ability to work in wet canals and has an independently evaluated accuracy rate of 96.2%.
