DAVIE, Fla.—National mobile dental equipment repair service franchise Dental Fix Rx has rolled out a new program that provides dental practices regular preventative maintenance and repair services at a flat monthly charge.

Through the unlimited service plan, or “USP”, dental practices are visited at least once a month by their local Dental Fix Rx operator whose goal is to prevent equipment from breaking.

“The unlimited service plan allows our franchisees and their clients to move from a reactive to a proactive state of doing business,” says Dental Fix Rx director of operations Tom Meiron. “In today’s difficult business environment, operating costs are hard to predict and control. And, just like all other businesses, dental practices would rather have a consistent charge each month, rather than dealing with the uncertainty of a potential big ticket line item. This program allows us to help prevent those big surprises by maintaining their equipment so it works more efficiently, and lasts longer.”

Dental Fix Rx first piloted the program with ten franchisees who found it to be embraced by their clients.

One of the test franchisees, Michael Ryan of the Dental Fix Rx in Ft. Worth, Texas said, “Dental practices are now trading an inconsistent problem for a consistent solution. And, while we traditionally maintain good-standing relationships with our clients, this program allows us to truly become a partner in their business. Our goal is to prevent equipment from breaking, eliminating downtime and saving them money long-term. It’s a lot different than only hearing from a practice when a piece of equipment breaks.”

The USP covers preventative maintenance for all pieces of dental equipment, including handpieces. The flat monthly fee varies depending on the size of the dental practice. Outside of the regular monthly rate, participating practices only pay for parts needed to complete a repair. All labor costs are included in the monthly fee, regardless of how many visits an operator makes to a dental practice within the month.
