VacuLux Mouthpiece

Ascentcare Dental Products, a dental product development company, has launched its universal isolation mouthpiece. During the product’s development, Ascentcare talked to thousands of doctors regarding their likes and dislikes of other isolation mouthpieces.

The mouthpiece has an evacuation chamber designed to allow for continuous, uninterrupted negative-pressure suction without collapsing on itself. A patient comfort flap made of optical-grade soft silicone folds to protect the patient’s mouth for increased acceptance.

These autoclavable mouthpieces were engineered for easy cleaning and are currently available in size medium. Other sizes, including large, small and pediatric, will become available in February, followed shortly by disposable versions of all four sizes.

VisCalor Bulk

Voco’s VisCalor Bulk is a thermoviscous bulk-fill composite that offers a new 2-in-1 technology. Once warmed, the composite delivers the viscosity of a flowable, then rapidly cools to body temperature once placed—allowing for the immediate sculptability of a packable.

With an 83% fill rate by weight and a 4mm depth of cure, VisCalor Bulk saves time by eliminating procedural steps and the need for additional materials used as a restorative base, liner or occlusal capping layer, effectively making VisCalor Bulk two restoratives in one.

VisCalor Bulk’s unique formulation is based on a new monomer system and special silane coating of its glass fillers. This combined modification, along with a new capsule design that is optimized for heat transfer, results in a unique behavior of the restorative when warmed. VisCalor bulk has exceptionally low water absorption and is available in four shades: Universal, A1, A2 and A3. The versatile universal shade requires only a 10-second light cure.
