Does a patient's occlusal scheme dictate what type of impression or records you would send to the lab?.

"I love to see that my townie friends have such a concern for occlusion as do I and I expected to see some of the results that we did. My concerns are that 76 percent have indicated that they have postponed treatment due to occlusion-related issues, and 65 percent of docs report that they feel only somewhat confident in recording a CR bite, or only perform MI bite relationships. It has been my experience that once doctors understand the when, why, and how, their practices grow and their dentistry takes on a whole new level."
John Nosti, DMD, FAGD, FACE, FICOI

"I am amazed that so many dentists clearly think occlusion is an important factor, and report a healthy percentage of their failures are due to occlusal factors but do not take facebow records more routinely when it is a relatively easy task. The use of a full arch impression and facebow when the case involves three units or more, a most distal tooth in the quadrant, or any anterior teeth, makes the predictability go way up and the amount of chair time for adjustment go way down."
