Townie Meeting is packed with can't-miss live CE! [Editor's note: Townie Meeting takes
place April 17-20. There's still time to register! Visit www.towniemeeting.com for more information] But on Dentaltown.com we are constantly releasing great new courses (at least two every
month). And all these new courses can be viewed on your iPad, Android and other mobile
device. This past month we have released the following excellent CE courses:
Optimizing The Omnicam by Todd Ehrlich, DDS, FAGD
Dr. Todd Ehrlich is back with another Dentaltown course that is helpful to both CEREC
users and anyone interested in learning more about intra-oral scanning. Major advancements
– from smartphones to computer programs – continue to occur in our digital age. One of the
most intriguing digital medical technologies is 3D intra-oral scanning. The CEREC
Omnicam's main features include color-rendered models, video streaming, powder-free and
small camera footprint.
This course discusses the utilization of the Omnicam and techniques and "tricks" for success.
Posterior and anterior applications are discussed as well as new features such as the "cut"
and the 2D mode. If you are a current CEREC user wanting to hone your skills or are curious
about the technology, this narrative instruction will guide you for the best outcome.
State of the Art Impressions, Digital Restorative Dentistry and the Lab by Mike DiTolla DDS, FAGD
Impressions remain the most important part of the restorative process when it comes to
crown and bridge. Is there a better way to make them? CAD/CAM restorations from the lab are
changing the way we diagnose and treatment plan dentistry today, and allow us to give patients
the restorations they want. The majority of lab restorations are now made by CAD/CAM.
Monolithic restorations offer many advantages over their bi-layered counterparts going
back to the original monolithic material, cast gold. While cast gold is highly unaesthetic in the
eyes of the average patient, the new monolithic materials available to us happen to be tooth
colored, and because of their high strength, they are also cementable.
Being able to make the process completely digital with digital impressions gives you the
opportunity to make more accurate impressions and take advantage of more economical
restorations. Join Dr. Mike DiTolla for a highly informative and entertaining lecture on this
important way that we are and will be doing crown and bridge.
In addition to these excellent courses, I want to remind everyone that last year we released
a great course for young dentists who are looking at entering into an associate agreement, purchasing
an interest in a dental practice and forming a partnership, attempting to do a dental
practice start-up or purchasing a dental practice and becoming the sole owner. Associates,
Partnerships, Acquisitions, Oh My! by Jason Wood, Esq., has proved invaluable to many
dentists looking to change their career paths. Best of all, viewing and CE credits are only $18
for this course.
I just watched Howard Farran lecture in both Boston and Chicago and still learn so
much from him. In Dr. Howard Farran's One Day Dental MBA (available online at
Dentaltown.com), Dr. Farran shares his proven techniques to increase your productivity, boost
your bottom line and build your business. Don't miss his live and unfiltered insights on dentistry
and business along with an insider's view of his dental practice.
Enjoy learning from the comfort of your home!
