CBCT Scan Interpretation: Guidelines for Reviewing and Reporting Findings

by Dr. Dale A. MilesAs dentists using CBCT, you understand and are thrilled about how CBCT makes your clinical decisions easier and more precise. But what risks might you incur by using CBCT? Do you know what you are seeing? Do you have a systematic way of reviewing all the scan data and carefully documenting your findings?

This course will show dentists simple guidelines for reviewing their scan data to reduce liability. Participants will also be shown a simple decision support and reporting software called EasyRiter® that can help them rapidly review their scan and produce a professional report for their patient records and for referral.

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
  • Recognize the significant abnormalities in various anatomic regions of their scans

  • Review a CBCT volume systematically

  • See how to produce a professional, structured radiographic report
