Why should you retire early? Today, I want to explore this personally, inspired by a recent conversation in a private Facebook group for dentists interested in real estate. One member shared a cautionary tale about his father who, after working his entire life and saving over $3 million, passed away shortly after retiring at 62. This story underscores a crucial point many overlook: the value of our time.

Most of us spend our weeks working 40 hours, commuting, and having only about five hours daily. This routine leaves us too drained to enjoy personal activities or spend quality time with loved ones. Considering this, I've shifted my focus towards financial independence and early retirement, not just to secure a comfortable lifestyle but to reclaim my time—time that can be spent living, not just surviving.

The drive for early retirement intensified after a skiing accident impaired my ability to practice dentistry. It made me realize the precarious nature of relying on a single income stream. Wealthy individuals diversify their income, often including real estate in their portfolios, which provides them the freedom from having to trade time for money.

Retiring early can triple your daily personal time from five to about 15 hours. This isn't just about leisure; it's about having the capacity to serve and enrich the lives of others, which I believe is our true purpose. As a Christian, I find that fulfilling our role to serve is difficult if we're confined to an office, missing out on what could be 15 hours of impactful interactions every day.

Through successes and failures in real estate and passive income strategies, I've learned that a strong 'why'—your reason for pursuing a goal—is essential. This could be visualized through a photo of your family or a favorite place, serving as a constant reminder and motivation to persevere.

If you know someone who could benefit from thinking about early retirement, or if this message resonates with you, please share this video. Let's help others regain their time and live fuller lives.
