This course explores advancements in endodontics, highlighting cutting-edge technologies such as multisonic and laser-assisted irrigation, innovative disinfection methods like nanoparticle treatments and non-traditional disinfectants, and the use of CBCT. Additionally, it covers new materials for canal obturation, including a laser-activated hydrogel, and advanced magnification technology that enhances ergonomic viewing. The course combines clinical applications, real case studies and evidence-based support to illustrate how these technologies are transforming dental practices and improving patient outcomes.

Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Understand multisonic canal disinfection, laser-assisted endodontic irrigation, negative pressure irrigation technologies and evidence basis.
  •
  • Be familiar with emerging non-sodium hypochlorite disinfection technologies including laser ablation, nanoparticle-based techniques and saline driven canal disinfection.
  •
  • Understand how biomarker detection in endodontics can provide chairside evidence and verification of canal cleanliness on a case-by-case basis.
  •
  • Leverage CBCT to understand the different planes of view used across various units and software.
  •
  • Discuss the potential for emerging obturation technology that does not use the classic gutta percha or sealer materials.
