Synopsis:


Direct composite restorations are among the most frequently performed restorative procedures, yet dentists often struggle with placement techniques, options for consistently generating ideal interproximal contact and postoperative sensitivity. This presentation will discuss how each element will play a critical role in the professional’s decision-making process when determining which materials, systems and techniques are best to utilize when doing direct composite restorations.


Description of Speaker:
Dr. Nicholas Conte, Jr. is the director of clinical research and education for DENTSPLY Caulk in Milford, Delaware. Dr. Conte earned a BA from the University of Rochester, a DMD from UMDNJ-New Jersey Dental School and an MBA from Wilmington University. He is a board-eligible prosthodontist and holds an appointment as a clinical assistant professor at New Jersey Dental School. In addition, he maintains a part-time clinical practice in Havertown, PA.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following:
  • Learn indications for anterior and posterior direct composites.
  • Learn polishing and sealing techniques for long term durability.
  • Improve their understanding of adhesion, current products and their function in modern day dentistry.
  • Learn techniques and tips for handling and placement of modern composites.
