Synopsis:
Featuring Filtek Supreme Ultra Flowable and paste composites, the Filtek Bulk Fill and the Bioclear Matrix System.

Contacts for Class II composites can be a practice builder or a practice killer. Until now there has not been a methodical approach to provide ideal contacts and embrasures for posterior composites. Even when the contact is tight, it is often a “point” contact, ragged and sharp.

In this entertaining and practical lecture, Dr. David Clark will demonstrate a predictable step wise approach to solve this riddle of ideal contacts.

Description of Speaker:
Dr. Clark founded the Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry to advance the art and science of microdentistry, micro-endodontics, micro-periodontics and dental microsurgery. He is a course director at the Newport Coast Oral Facial Institute. He is on the editorial board for several journals. Dr. Clark has developed a matrix and interproximal management system, the Bioclear Matrix System that promises a real advancement for both bonded porcelain and direct composites.

Educational Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to achieve the following:
  • Understand what makes an ideal contact in the posterior region.
  • Understand how to achieve ideal contacts for tight embrasures with composite.
  • Understand how to achieve ideal contacts for deep caries with composite.
  • Understand how to achieve contacts for wide embrasures in the posterior with composite.

Moving away from amalgam is still a few decades away, not until all the dental graduates are artists of composite restorations. Until then updates like this course are the key to practice evidence-based techniques. Simple, easy to use tips, especially informative Q&A. Thank you.
