1. THE GEORGIA SCHOOL OF ORTHODONTICS in Atlanta, Georgia has begun accepting students for classes this fall. This privately owned School will provide 36-month residency programs in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics.

2. A1 HEALTHCARE TECHNOLOGIES launched DocMate in Orange, California. This new cloud-based dental office communication system can send patient messages in 26 different languages and allow patients to book their appointments online, among other features. www.docmate.com

3. PHILIPS ORAL HEALTHCARE in Stamford, Connecticut began marketing the FlexCare Platinum Connected power toothbrush that uses Bluetooth to communicate with a new application providing brushing data to the user. This over-the-counter product has a suggested retail price of $199. www.philips.com

4. METLIFE INC. in New York, New York introduced a new dental plan that companies may provide to part-time workers and/or retirees among others. The new plan is called Metlife TakeAlong Dental and offers access to Metlife’s group of participating dentists. www.metlife.com
