2. CARE CREDIT, Costa Mesa, California-based subsidiary of Synchrony Bank, is requiring the 10,000+ dental practices that except the CareCredit patient financing card to complete a new online training program. At least one member of each dental practice using the Card must become CareCredit-certified. www.carecredit.com
3. Some highlights from the 2014 Dental Industry Review prepared by the team at The Anaheim Group:
They reported 390 New Products. Their basket of 50 dental company stocks rose 13.1% in 2014 compared to 24.5% the year before.
4. A study published in the Journal of Dental Research found that elderly individuals who sleep with their dentures in their mouth are over 2 times more likely to develop pneumonia than those who remove their dentures at night.
5. Researchers in the public health program at the West Virginia University conducted a study that suggested tooth loss may contribute to an individual’s anxiety and depression.
6. In other news: Tiger Woods registered one of his worst rounds of golf Friday at the Phoenix Open. He shot an 82 and was tied for last place. He missed the cut AND the Super Bowl.
