Ortho Organizers announces our newest appliance, the Opti-MIM® Bite Guide® for opening deep bite cases and/or advancing the mandible. This new, one-piece Metal Injection Molded appliance is bonded directly to the lingual side of the centrals via its micro-etched Grip-LOK® base for a secure bond. The Bite Guide™ functions as a fixed plane that lower anteriors occlude against in an intrusive force that is evenly distributed on the upper and lower incisors. While allowing the occlusion to be uncoupled and repositioned at the proper depth through normal biting actions, the molars are no longer restricted by the bite and therefore may occlude more freely to their proper position. The lower arch can also move mesially from a Class II to an ideal Class I relationship. In addition, the Bite Guide™ is anatomically shaped with smooth radiused edges for maximum patient comfort.
The dual purpose Bite Guide™ features a raised id mark on one side. For deep bite correction of 3mm or less of space and more rapid mandibular advancement, place the Bite Guide™ id mark gingival on the lingual side of the centrals. For deep bite correction of more that 3mm, reverse the Bite Guide™ so the id mark is occlusive on the lingual side of centrals.
