ST. LOUIS—Seiler Medical, a medical microscope manufacturing and distribution division under Seiler Instrument & Mfg Co., has launched its latest microscope, the Alpha Air 6, to the international market. The new product can be used in several dental industries including general dentistry, implantology, endodontistry, restorative dentistry and periodontistry.

“The Alpha Air 6’s design and functionality revolutionize the way a dental microscope performs and operates,” said Dane Carlson, microscope division manager at Seiler Instrument & Mfg Co. “Our in-house team ergonomically designed the Alpha Air 6 for superior maneuverability and performance.”

For many dentists, a top priority when investing in a microscope is the level of comfort it provides. Roughly 80 percent of practicing dentists are over the age of 40, making ergonomics a critical element. With the Alpha Air 6, dentists can maintain an upright, working position while keeping visual contact with a patient. The microscope’s design allows dentists to make a concerted effort to avoid the long-term effects that come along with working in an uncomfortable position.

The product allows for up to six steps of magnification with its German apochromatic lenses and a bright LED illumination at 150,000 lux. It has a built-in USB port and a 12-volt power supply, allowing for more continuous use without recharging the battery. And by accommodating a full HD video camera able to capture 4K video, dentists can better communicate with patients.
