ST. PAUL, Minn.—3M recently announced that its True Definition Scanner has met the standards set for third-party scanners and is now validated for case submission for the manufacture of Nobel Biocare’s NobelProcera implant- and cement-based single-unit portfolio, including original abutments.

“We are excited to expand our open connections to include NobelProcera single-unit restorations. Our commitment to high-quality clinical results and technical achievement is well demonstrated by this validation,” said Karen Burquest, global business leader for 3M’s digital oral care business. “This is an additional step forward toward our goal of making a wide variety of workflows available to customers.”

Beginning immediately, 3M True Definition Scanner customers can submit Nobel Biocare implant cases to their dental labs. Labs utilizing NobelProcera’s open access partnership with 3Shape’s Dental Designer software can now order original NobelProcera prosthetics for their doctors using a True Definition Scanner. This validation applies to both the 3M Mobile True Definition Scanner and the Cart Edition and is available to 3M subscribers on the standard data plan or higher.
