Kool Smiles Awards $5,000 Scholarship to Third-Year Dental StudentKool Smiles, a provider of dental care for children and families, has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Howard University College of Dentistry (HUCD) student Erin Anderson for outstanding contributions to her community.

Anderson, who is pursuing her third year of studies at HUCD, is a member of the American Student Dental Association and was nominated to attend the American Dental Education Association's 2017 Diversity Leadership Program.

Kool Smiles has more than 45 HUCD alumni practicing in its dental offices throughout the country. Distinguished alumni include Dr. Andre Singleton, DDS, a recent appointee to the HUCD dean's advisory board, who has been with Kool Smiles since 2008.

Komet USA Debuts New Customer-Centric Website
Komet USA, a provider of specialized dental instruments and accessories, has undertaken web development efforts on its main website to provide customers with a better user experience. The overhauled website launched Sept. 22.

Changes to the website are in direct alignment with Komet customers' desire to "do more online." A few key improvements to the website include: instant registration, an info center with product information and other materials, and an extended catalog.

The site was modified with appropriate keywords to make search queries more accurate, and the instant registration capability enables users to spend more time discovering the products they need and less time filling out forms. Most of Komet's catalog of products will be available for purchase on the site, which users gain access to as soon as they are registered. The new Komet Influencers section will profile dental practitioners throughout the United States. Combined with the new blog, which will discuss new products and company news, this new section will provide customers with different perspectives and information to foster learning and growth within the dental industry.

Perio Protect Announces Dates for 2018 Annual Meeting
Perio Protect, creator of FDA-cleared Perio Trays, has announced the dates for its next annual meeting.

The meeting to be held March 16–17 at Green Valley Ranch, Las Vegas, will feature courses on scientific discoveries, practical implementation, case study applications, insurance tips and patient presentation skills.
