Pulpdent, a dental research manufacturing company and a leader in bioactive restorative materials, has launched a versatile bioactive cement to use for all crown materials. Activa Bioactive-Cement simplifies the process for choosing a cement.
Unique chemistry
Activa Bioactive-Cement stimulates mineral apatite formation at the material-tooth interface. This natural remineralization process knits the restoration and the tooth together and seals margins against microleakage, a primary cause of secondary caries and restoration failure.
The product releases and recharges calcium, phosphate and fluoride. The bioactive resin matrix is resistant to acid and ideal for the moist oral environment. In addition, it contains a patented rubberized-resin matrix that is insoluble and absorbs shock, providing greater resistance to chipping and fracture. The material contains no Bisphenol A (BPA), no Bis-GMA and no BPA derivatives.
One cement for all substrates
Activa Bioactive-Cement can be used for all crown and bridge materials, including zirconia, CAD/CAM, lithium disilicate, PFMs and glass ceramic materials. Its versatility and tissue compatibility mean that dental offices can order just one cement. Not needing multiple cements for different substrates simplifies the dentist's clinical technique and makes inventory management and ordering easier for office staff.
Simplified technique
Activa Bioactive-Cement is a moisture-friendly, self-adhesive cement, and these properties simplify the clinical technique and the steps needed for a successful restoration. Dentists find that the product "handles extremely well," is "easy to mix and spread uniformly" and leaves "lovely clean margins." The material is dual cure and packaged in an easy-to-use auto-mix syringe. Excess material is removed without difficulty after tack curing, allowing for fast cleanup.
