Young Innovations Announces Acquisition of American Eagle Instruments
Young Innovations, a global manufacturer and distributor of dental supplies and equipment, recently announced that it has acquired American Eagle Instruments, a manufacturer of dental hand instruments and related supplies.

Andrew Jones, vice president of corporate development at Young Innovations, says the acquisition builds on the company's foundation in preventive dentistry and allows Young to offer a complete portfolio of premium branded preventive products. Dan Garrick, Young's vice president of global business development, says the combination of American Eagle and Young's international customer relationships and clinical focus will support accelerated global expansion for the combined company.

Brad Heckerman, American Eagle founder and CEO, will join Young on a consulting basis after the transaction. There will be no changes to ordering and service procedures for customers or vendors, and American Eagle products will continue to be manufactured in Missoula, Montana.

New Software Company Novadontics Introduces Model to Help Implant Doctors Compete Against Corporate Dentistry DSOs
Novadontics' new "digital treatment optimization" model was created with the goal of helping independent implant clinicians remain competitive against corporate-controlled brands and their DSOs.

Novadontics' app-based Smartchecklist software features implant educator Dr. Louie Al-Faraje's "150 Checks to Perfection" protocol, continuing education, training and a refer-in network of integrated solutions ranging from VoIP consultations to in-practice support.

Al-Faraje says that by offering the benefits of a DSO—national brand marketing and purchasing discounts for example—and adding performing-driving technology, the Novadontics network can provide clinicians with a greater sense of autonomy and empowerment, as well as more profitability.

The company launched in January, and there are now 22 Novadontics providers throughout the country. Nobel Biocare is the first Novadontics preferred product manufacturer.
