After introducing the industry's first independently mounted WireLess LED headlight, Designs for Vision has unveiled a new smaller version, the LED DayLite WireLess Mini.

The WireLess Mini can be coaxially mounted to any pair of loupes and protective or prescription glasses, giving dentists the freedom to use the product with their choice of eyewear. It allows dentists to move about freely without worrying about dragging a cord or wire behind them. This solution can be liberating for anyone who's had their cord caught … your cord caught on the chair or snagged on a door handle.

With a simple twist of the cap, the LED illuminates the entire oral cavity with an intensity setting of 27,000 lux. It provides a neutral white light measuring in at 5,800 K and is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery. The orange curing filter rotates over the front of the WireLess Mini to prevent materials from photo-reacting. Each unit has three batteries that last 90 minutes each, allowing dentists to have continuous battery life throughout the workday. The charging cradle can charge two batteries simultaneously; each battery takes 60 minutes to reach a full charge.

Designs for Vision warranties its lithium ion batteries for one year and the charging dock for two years. Replacement batteries come in sets of three for $49.95. Weighing in at less than an ounce, the headlight is the most lightweight wireless option on the market. Retailing for $995, the LED DayLite WireLess Mini is available on a 45-day trial.
