Chairside Shade Guide System by LSK121
The Chairside Shade Guide system reduces the guesswork of shade matching.
The Chairside Shade Guide (CSG) system is a revolutionary new level of excellence
in the art and practice of cosmetic shade matching and communication. CSG is comprised
of five unique, individual sets of ceramic shade tabs used for matching the natural
dentition of patients. The Chairside Shade Guide system is divided into five innovative
categories, each containing 20 tabs that work together to improve communication
between doctors and laboratories, effectively eliminating the guesswork regarding
how restorations will be completed. The CSG system is manufactured with porcelain
ceramic shade tabs, tabs that provide more realistic color comparisons than possible
with other, traditional shade tab systems, leading to exceptionally life-like restorations
and fewer remakes. Visit ChairsideGuide.com for more information.
Mimicking Nature
The CSG system was developed to reflect changes that occur in teeth over time. As patients age, dentin and mamelon naturally
decreases. These physical changes alter the translucency and transparency of teeth, dramatically modifying their
natural appearance. While traditional shade tabs do not account for these changes, the CSG system provides multiple
tools for communicating these characteristics.
Choosing a Shade Guide
Chairside Shade Guide 3.0
CSG 3.0 was developed for younger patients. This set contains 14 tabs for
matching the natural shades and characteristics of younger patients along
with six cosmetic (bleach) shade tabs. Enamel colors for these tabs range from
bright to medium white, reflective of the higher composition of dentin and
enamel overlay in younger patients’ teeth. CSG 3.0 allows doctors to choose
between opal and translucent shades, variations of white calcification, and
various mamelon colors.
Chairside Shade Guide 4.0
CSG 4.0 was developed for middle-aged patients and includes 20 shade variations
reflective of a 20 percent to 30 percent reduction of color in enamel. CSG
4.0 includes three variations of white calcification with multiple translucency
and mamelon options to reflect the lower enamel and higher translucency common
in this age group.
Chairside Shade Guide 5.0
CSG 5.0 features tabs suitable for elderly patients in which teeth become more
transparent. These tabs contain subtle, moderate and heavy shades of brown,
orange, gray and yellow dentin coloration reflective of natural teeth in this age
group. CSG 5.0 includes multiple modification and staining options to mimic
dentition characteristics common to this age group.
Chairside Shade Guide 6.0
CSG 6.0 contains seven tabs for molar selection, three tabs for premolar
selection, four tabs for occlusal stain selection, and six tabs for canine selection.
These tabs feature two-thirds occlusal enamel along with occlusion
stain featuring gray, tan, opal and blue enamel color variations. This set also
contains a variety of canine and enamel variations with consideration given
to the incisal third.
Chairside Shade Guide 7.0
CSG 7.0 features 14 stump shades that mimic natural teeth as they appear
after preparation for implant and veneer cases. This set also includes six tabs
in various shades of pink that can be used for gum tissue color selection.
