Articadent is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to products containing sulfite. Commonprecautions include aspiration prior to injection to help avoid intravascular injection. Local anestheticsolutions like Articadent that contain a vasoconstrictor should be used cautiously especially in patientswith impaired cardiovascular function or vascular disease. The most common adverse reactions (incidence >2%) are headache and pain. Articadent should not be used in patients with congenital oridiopathic methemoglobinemia or in patients who are receiving treatment with methemoglobin-inducingagents.
