He is currently the Associate Editor of the AGD journals and is honored to have been named editor of IMPLANTS TODAY, the implant publications of DENTISTRY TODAY. He is a Past-President of the Michigan Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Kosinski received his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy Dental School and his Mastership in Biochemistry from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Society of Osseointegration. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and received his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Kosinski has received many honors including Fellowship in the American and International Colleges of Dentists and the Academy of Dentistry International. In 2017 he received the Academy of Dentistry International’s Humanitarian Award “in recognition of significant contributions to the enhancement of the quality of life and the human condition.” He is a member of OKU and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Deliberato received his DDS degree from The Ohio State University in 1984. Following a one year general practice residency at the Cleveland, Ohio Veterans Administration, he Practiced General Dentistry in Lorain, Ohio for 6 months.

In 1989 Dr Deliberato began his Prosthodontic Residency at the Veterans Administration in Wilmington Delaware. He received his certificate in Fixed, Removable, and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics in 1988. He also completed an externship at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic in Pennsylvania. Also in 1989, he was positioned as an Associate Professor in the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics at Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry. In 1990 he was appointed the Director of Fixed Prosthodontics and also served as the Director of the Advanced General Dentistry Residency.

Dr Deliberato entered into full time practice in 1993 in Rocky River Ohio before moving into his current office in Westlake, Ohio in 2005 where he maintains a private practice specializing in fixed, removable, and implant Prosthodontics. He has lectured extensively in Prosthodontics and implant dentistry

We have all dealt with a post restorative complaint and corrected it by adjusting a “high spot” that was inadvertently created during the procedure. Almost without fail a single adjustment resolves the complaint.

We have all dealt with patients who were hyper aware of their occlusion. Some of those patients get labeled as “occlusal neurotics.”

This 90 minute on-line CE session, then, is geared for the general dentist with the goals to improve daily occlusal adjustments in restorative therapy as well as to learn how to deal with more complex occlusal issues.

There is a continuum of disease that starts with a single tooth awareness that progresses to jaw discomfort and awareness that a bite is “uncomfortable” to a patient totally focused on their “bite” often seriously effecting the quality of their lives. The later stages of this disorder is termed “occlusal dysesthesia.”

There are many literature references to this somatic disorder. It is difficult to assess the frequency of the disorder. Because it is a continuum, many patients have a degree of the disorder and are therefore vulnerable to proceeding to a more serious, life altering form of the disease. The disorder is associated with a vicious cycle between an increased trigeminal signal and the reticular activating system. Appropriate treatment to interfere in this vicious cycle will be thoroughly explored.
