Have you heard of IGTV (InstagramTV)? Here’s what dentists need to know…
Instagram has just launched IGTV less than a week ago. IGTV is described as “ introducing IGTV, a new app for watching long-form, vertical video from your favorite Instagram creators.”
It can accessed by tapping the TV Icon on the top-right corner on Instagram.
So what does this mean for dentists like you?
To begin, we have to understand what IGTV does.
IGTV allows Instagram creators to create video content this can be up to 1-Hour long!
Unlike Instagram Stories which are limited to 15 seconds and disappear after 24 hours, IGTV is like your own “Youtube Channel” within the Instagram app that lasts forever.
The best part is, this came out less than a week ago, so you’re competitors do not have an advantage over you here. It’s a completely even starting pointing, if you start creating videos today.
So what’s the KEY difference between IGTV and Youtube?
The answer is simple. IGTV is full-screen vertical video format only. What this means, is that people on their phones will already be watching your video content naturally, without having to turn turn their phones horizontally, or squint at a small video.
How can you use IGTV to grow your dental practice?
The possibilities are endless.
Since IGTV videos can be up to an hour long, you can start recording large chunks of your day, show off your team and clinic, show how you ZOOM whiten your patient’s teeth (taking before and after pics to a whole new level), or if you’re really ambitious, start your own tri-weekly episodes.
Instagram is now transforming into a platform where special offers and payments will be able to take place easily between your dental practice and the viewers. We’ve seen this already with Instagram Stories.
With IGTV and Instagram’s focus on video, Instagram will truly emerge to be you’re new website where people can claim special limited-time offers in your posts, links in your bio, and even call, email, and get directions to your office directly from the app while they are on their phone (all this already exists).
In fact, a study showed that 64% of consumers claim to be much more likely to buy a product after watching a video.
If a picture says a thousand words, a video says a billion.
Do you have a strategy to capitalize on this new-trend?
