If you're like many dentists, you're always looking for a way to get more value out of your current patients and to connect with new patient opportunities. One of the easiest ways to do this is through a monthly email newsletter.
Why Have an Email Newsletter?
1. Connect and build trust with your existing patients. Encourage them to write a review or review a friend.
2. Show your involvement in the community. Showcase the causes you care about and how you’re helping!
3. Share news, special offers, and more.
Email newsletters are more profitable, simpler to launch, less costly, and often more effective than many offline marketing campaigns.
Here are my tips for building an email newsletter with measurable ROI:
1. When it comes to your email list, value quality, not quantity.
Only send your newsletters to people who actually want to read them! It costs more money and takes more effort to manage a larger list. Plus, by only sending your newsletters to people who have opted in to receive them, you'll minimize your chances of receiving spam complaints and increase newsletter engagement.
2. Use MailChimp!
MailChimp is:
1. Simple to use.
2. Produces great-looking email newsletters.
3. Full of great reports and stats to track results.
4. Cheap! It's even free if you have fewer than 2,000 subscribers.
3. Create a Template You Can Use Over & Over
Don't repeat yourself! When you create a simple newsletter template, you (or a member of your team) can update content every month and send out a new newsletter in just a few minutes!
Your template should:
1. Use your practice's colors and logo
2. Have buttons and easy to click links.
3 Link to your 3 main social media profiles
4. Don't Just Send Newsletters - Have a plan in mind!
In just a few minutes of strategizing, you can make your monthly newsletters even more effective. You might want to promote:
1. Upcoming events or special offers
2. Blog posts or new services
3. Dental health tips or advice to your patients
4. Local causes or charities you support
5. Track Your Metrics!
1. Open Rate - Experiment with different subject lines and aim to get at least 20% of your recipients to open your email.
2. Click Through Rate - Try to get at least 5% of recipients to click through and visit your website or another link in each newsletter.
3. Conversion Rate - Are patients taking advantage of special offers? Are they referring friends? Conversion rate is the most valuable metric to track in your email newsletter.
