Unique properties of RaCe NiTi files make them extremely flexible due to their small core diameter, resistant to fracture due to electro-polishing and have a decreased “screw in” due to their non threading design.
The files are available in multiple tip sizes and tapers so as to fit any instrumentation philosophy. The BioRace sequence is designed to reach maximal safe apical sizes using an alternate tip and taper increases. Using a “cook book” sequence, the sizes are safely and predictably reached in 5 to 7 files depending on the canal. The BT RaCe system employs a unique Booster Tip (BT) that allows for sizes to be skipped so that these sizes can be reached in 3 files in most cases. In addition, the BT system has a slightly more conservative taper making it one of the only systems that can reach biological sizes while being minimally invasive in the coronal dentin.

Dr. James G. Hupp received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1984. Upon graduating, he practiced general dentistry in the US Navy until 1993. In 1996, he completed his endodontic residency program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Master of Science degree. He became a diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics in 2003. In 2009, he retired from the US Naval Reserves at the rank of Captain. He has remained active as an educator and in 2011, as Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center he was awarded Clinical Instructor of the Year and inducted into the prestigious Nelson Order. He currently is Director of Endodontics at Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine. His current research focus is Micro-CT evaluation of various instrumentation techniques.

Martin Trope was born in Johannesburg, South Africa where he earned his BDS degree in dentistry in 1976. From 1976 to 1980, he practiced general dentistry and endodontics. In 1980, he moved to Philadelphia to specialize in Endodontics at the University of Pennsylvania. After graduating as an endodontist, he continued at the University of Pennsylvania as a faculty member until 1989 when he became Chair of Endodontology at Temple University, School of Dentistry. In 1993, he accepted the JB Freedland Professorship in the Department of Endodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, School of Dentistry. Named in honor of one of the founding fathers of Endodontics, the Freedland Professorship recognizes significant contributions to the specialty.

Dr. Trope is currently clinical professor, Department of Endodontics, School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He is in private practice in Philadelphia, PA.
