With more and more competition showing up each year, attracting enough new quality new patients is a major challenge for most Dentists today.  One of the BEST, Most OVERLOOKED strategies you can implement (amazingly inexpensive considering the huge bump it'll give your website helping you land on Page #1 of Google in your respective keyword search!) is local search marketing using business directory listings.

Unless you’re trying to attract a lot of Medicare patients or you live in a rural area where AOL and dial-up still reign supreme… the days of prospective patients going to the Yellow Pages to find a Dentist are nothing more than a fleeting memory.

Today, huge number of consumers (your prospective new and existing patients) are turning to the internet as a way to find a Dentist they can trust… the best deals (I hate “deals”) and the best option for them.

One way you can dramatically increase your chances of showing up at the top of page #1 of Google’s PageRank (in your targeted keyword) can get found is through inclusion in online directories. Adding a listing to these online directories is easy, but if you only list in a few, you're really missing a huge opportunity to get found by online searchers.

Every individual directory that you submit to increases the likelihood that you’ll be found (and contacted) by new patients. You’ll also create valuable back links to your website from these directory sites which is very important to how your page ranks in Google. Back links from “authority” websites (for the sake of brevity suffice it to say that these sites are “authority” websites) can dramatically improve your PageRank in in Google.

Why do back links from authority websites to your dental website matter? Google’s thought process is simple: “If a high-ranking website is linking back to your site, it must mean that your site is important!” This is why it’s hugely important to the PageRank and ultimately new patients calling your practice for an appointment to make sure you're listed in every directory possible.
