The news of the week includes Henry Schein, A-dec, Mutual of Omaha, Brasseler, Hu-Friedy and the ADA.

1. In case you missed it, Dentist came in at #1 on US News and World Report’s list of Best Jobs in the US. Dental Hygienist came in at #5 and the backbone of any dental office, Dental Assistant was #67.

2. According to a recent article on Vox.com, Dentists remove 10 million wisdom teeth each year and that might be too many. The estimated cost is $3 billion dollars per year. Once again the debate is rekindled and your patients may ask if they really need to have them extracted.

3. A-DEC INC. in Newberg, Oregon is formally standing behind their dental equipment with an official 5-year warranty on all of its dental equipment and furniture purchased from an authorized distributor.

4. BASE VAC, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada-based division of R. E. Morrison Equipment, introduced a new of dental compressors for the US and Canadian dental markets. The products will be manufactured by Werther International in Houston, Texas. 

5. BISCO DENTAL PRODUCTS in Schaumburg, Illinois released, Universal Primer, a dual cured adhesive that is designed for dentists who do not want to light cure the adhesive layer under indirect restorations prior to cementation.
