ATLANTA—Data sets captured by the CS 3600 intraoral scanner have been validated by 3M and are approved for use with the 3M Incognito Appliance System.
The Incognito System offers fully customized lingual brackets, archwires and bonding trays.
The CS 3600 creates detailed HD 3-D digital impressions while offering an easier acquisition method than using traditional PVS impressions. The scanner’s high-speed continuous scanning makes capturing dual arches faster and easier. Plus, ergonomically-designed, rounded autoclavable and reusable tips lead to a more comfortable and hygienic scanning experience for patients. Once the impressions are acquired, CS Model software can then be used to create digital models in HD 3D.
“The CS 3600 is known for its speed and accuracy, both key factors when creating orthodontic models,” said Edward Shellard, DMD, vice president, sales and marketing, Carestream Dental. “Plus, the scanner is part of an open system, which means it is easy for doctors to send their models to 3M. Digital also means faster turnaround from impression to appliance.”
“As 3M Oral Care is dedicated to excellent outcomes, we follow a thorough qualification process for integration of intraoral scanners with the Incognito System,” said Diana Day, 3M Oral Care global marketing manager of Custom Orthodontics. “We are pleased to partner with Carestream Dental to qualify both the CS 3600 and CS 3500 scanners to further ensure accuracy and ease of use for our Incognito System customers.”
Carestream Dental’s other intraoral scanner, the CS 3500, is also validated for use with the Incognito System. Both the CS 3600 and CS 3500 were developed using current standards for examinations of the American Board of Orthodontics as published on their website.
